ABOUT US
Based in Brussels, the vocal trio “Les Chanteuses Anonymes” brings together Clara Legros, Lydie Thonnard and Anne Bernard. All three are professional musicians, and it was their love of singing that brought them together. Their repertoire is 100% a cappella and their style ranges from world music to jazz via classical music. Guided by their personal musical favourites, they propose original arrangements that highlight their complicity and their respective timbres.
Les Chanteuses Anonymes offer two types of repertoire. The first is devoted to the Christmas period. It can be found on their album “Rendez-vous sous le gui”, released in 2022 under the artistic direction of Els Crommen.
The second is made up mainly of jazz standards, with arrangements that are tailor-made for their three voices. This repertoire will be the subject of their second album, which is scheduled to be recorded in autumn 2025 under the artistic direction of Emily Alison.
Les Chanteuses Anonymes won the Univox competition (BE) in spring 2024. In August of the same year, they had the opportunity to expand their practical experience alongside Steven Connolly at the International A Cappella School in Westonbirt (EN).

Clara Legros
soprano
Clara Legros began singing at the age of 12 in the class of Els Crommen at the Académie de Malmedy. As a member of the "Da Capo" choir, conducted by the same Els Crommen, she developed a passion for singing and decided to continue her studies at the Conservatoire. In 2014, she entered Lena Lootens' class at the Koninklijk Vonservatorium in Brussels, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in singing in 2017 and a specialist Master's degree in 2019. She then continued her training at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp for a Master's degree in didactics.
During her time at the Conservatoire, Clara had the opportunity to work with a variety of people, including Benoit de Leersnyder (stage direction), Valérie Guillorit (singing), Caroline Petrick (theatre) and Luc Anthonis (choral conducting). She also took singing lessons with Sarah Defrise for two years, and she had the chance to perform with the "cinematic art choir" under the direction of David de Geest and to participate in a season of the "Transparant" project under the direction of Nicolas Achten.
Since 2015, she has been sharing her passion for music through teaching, firstly within the non-profit organisation ReMuA, where she is in charge of choir projects in schools, and then at the academies in Waremme, Boom and Evere, where she gives musical education and initiation lessons. She has conducted the choir of the Royale Sainte-Cécile de Bellevaux for more than seven years and acted as a coach of the boys' choir "Les Pastoureaux", conducted by Philippe Favette, between 2021 and 2022.
Today, Clara continues to develop her vocal technique under the guidance of Catherine Maufroy. She teaches at the ISPG to train future teachers, conducts the choir "Cantabile" in Kampenhout, and sings in the vocal trio "Les Chanteuses Anonymes" as well as in the vocal octet "Ensemble Catharsis". For certain projects she also participates in the choir "Studium Chorale" under the direction of Hans Leenders, as well as in various other events and programs, be it in chamber music ensembles, within a choir or as a soloist.

Lydie Thonnard
mezzo-soprano
Lydie Thonnard is a Brussels-based flutist, singer and body percussionist. She performs in various chamber music projects in which improvisation plays an important part, and she already has more than ten album recordings to her name.

Her ensembles include Auster Loo with Simon Leleux (world/alternative), Ensemble Vibrations (flute septet), Olivier Thomas's Pocket Koral (a cappella vocal ensemble) and, last but not least, Les Chanteuses Anonymes. Her first solo project, L'évidence des nuages, is announced for spring 2025.
In addition to her musical projects, she shares her passion through teaching and often runs workshops on voice, creativity and how to create rhythms by using the whole body as instrument.

Anne Bernard
alto
A violist, guitarist and singer, Anne Bernard won several First Prizes at the Conservatoire royal de Liège in 2003, including those for guitar and music history. In 2010, she obtained a Master's degree in viola da gamba at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels, in the class of P. Pierlot.
Her interest in "living" music also led her to take classes with Michel Massot as well as Garrett List's improvisation classes.
Anne Bernard teaches guitar, viola da gamba and consort music while performing regularly in ensembles for Early music (Lux Beata, Arcus Coloratus, InAlto). She is also involved in projects related to folk music, her passion for Swedish folk music having taken her to the Nobel country on numerous occasions to learn this particular style of music. She has also collaborated on several shows or theatre projects, notably with Myriam Szabo and Anwar Abudragh ("La Danse du Luth"), but also "Sterrenkind" - Compagnie Carlotta, "Zindering" - dir. A. Aerts, "Un concert Curieux" (direction and conception Christophe Morrisset) as well as "Het Leven een Droom", produced by the NTGent.
In October 2021, she set to music a reading of Hubert Antoine’s novel "Les formes d'un Soupir" together with by Anaïs Moray under the direction of Anne-Pascale Clairembourg.
Since 2017, she has been devoting herself with the greatest pleasure to a capella singing alongside Lydie Thonnard and Clara Legros in the trio "Les Chanteuses Anonymes".
